THE BRAND
HISTORY
BALADE EN PROVENCE was founded in the small village of Opio, in the south of France and our name means 'a walk in Provence'. Our products are inspired by the artistry, fragrances & flora of the region...
The history of the brand started when we discovered that most shampoos, shower gels, and other liquid care products contain over 80% of water, chemical preservatives, and plastic packaging. The thought of trucks, boats, and planes burning energy to transport plastic-packaged, water-based products with ingredients that were potentially harmful to customers did not sit well with us, so we decided to do something about it. So we decided to create some solid products that are not full of water so they do not need a plastic packaging and preservatives.
PHILOSOPHY
Our business philosophy is "to promote bienveillance."
“Bienveillance” is a French term that can best be defined as “generosity or a desire to do good.”
At Balade en Provence, we believe that all actions, big and small, have an impact. Therefore, we strive to do what is “good” when developing our products, interacting with customers, working in our community and managing environmental waste.
TARGET MARKET
We know how hard it can be to modify our habits, and changing from traditional liquid products to solid ones can be difficult for some people. This is why we have created products that are easy to use, enjoyable and, above all, extremely effective. We want to make it is easy to Move to Solid and to convert as many people as possible.
OUR PRODUCTS
Our products are artisanal and contain ethically sourced, rich natural ingredients such as French green clay, rosehip oil, grape seed oil, and coconut oil. They are also certified organic, vegan, and packaged in zero-waste, 100% compostable boxes.
ARTISANAL COLD PROCESS BARS
Our beauty and grooming bars are made with care and patience in the most natural way possible.
The Balade en Provence artisans create a blend of the highest quality natural oils and rich organic ingredients, such as grapeseed oil, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, shea butter, and French clay to make our bars.
We then let our bars "rest" for 30 days on wooden shelves, to allow time for the oils to blend and mature. We do NOT heat them, which is why the saponification process is called the “cold process.” This process also allows the ingredients in our bars to retain their natural properties.
